Prefabricated fireplaces often suffer from cracked or broken panels and need some firebox repair.
These refractory panels are among the first defenses against dangerous heat transfer to nearby combustibles and must be taken seriously. When cracks are small, they can often be sealed or patched. However, when the panels crack through, its time to replace them.
In this customer’s case, just the rear panel was in need of a replacement.
We took detailed measurements and pictures to ensure that we found the correct panel that also matched stylistically. We cut the panel to size and installed it according to the manufacturer’s specifications.
This firebox repair now brings this area back up to the manufacturer’s requirements and is good to go!
