Description

When dealing with fire inside the home, we need as much certainty as possible that the home is protected. Occasionally this requires a Stainless Steel Liner Installation. As a home ages, a brick chimney can develop gaps and cracks inside the liner system that is responsible for containing heat and exhaust. This is precisely what we found upon our Level 2 Video Inspection of a chimney in Mountain Home. Gaps had developed and the chimney was no longer safe to use. Brick Chimney Repair is our specialty. We proposed the installation of a stainless steel liner system that would solve the problem with a lifetime warranty.

This specific install required a custom shaping of our stainless steel liner to fit inside the existing passageway. Careful measurements and equations were used to insure compatibility between the fireplace and liner.

Thorough cleaning and smoothing of the interior passageway prior to installation allowed for a snug and seamless insertion. The next step is to seal around the base of the liner with high temperature cement (called “parging“). This gives an air-tight arrangement and also seals gaps within the smoke chamber. Once this has been accomplished, insulation is then poured between the stainless steel liner and the original passageway.

The stainless steel liner has now been installed according to manufacturer’s specifications and carries a lifetime warranty.

If you have an older brick chimney, a Level 2 Video Inspection is highly recommended. Whether you are burning wood or gas, an airtight venting system is necessary for safe operation. And if you end up needing a Stainless Steel Liner Installation performed, you know you have found the right people for your Brick Chimney Repair.
