Chimney Cap and Chase Cover install 83712

Raintree Dr Boise, ID, US, 83712

Description

A customer of ours recently had his prefab fireplace and chimney pipe removed from his home but was left with a leaky chimney through his chimney Cap and Chase cover.

He called us to see if we could figure out the problem and we found a number of issues. Luckily for him, he had contractors scheduled to replace the roof and flashing around the chimney as well as the rotten siding. But what he needed our help with was a custom made chase cover (sometimes mistakenly referred to as the “cap”).

We decided to have it made out of stainless steel so it would never rust and serve his home for a lifetime.

The first step once the custom chase cover arrived was to remove the existing rusty chase cover and chimney Cap along with the section of chimney pipe attached to it. Once this was accomplished, we slid the new chase cover in place, drilled 2-3 holes per side, then secured the cover with roofing nails.

We raise the middle of our chase covers with cross breaks and add a drip edge all the way around the perimeter. This is to shed water and keep it away from the trim and siding.

Without a fireplace installed inside of this chimney chase, we needed a chase cover without a hole. The remaining pipe attached to the cap we removed as well. A chase cover with a hole made no sense.

Our stainless steel chase covers carry a lifetime warranty and will eliminate this area of any chimney from contributing to to a leak.

The customer was thrilled with our response time and quality of the install and we are thrilled to have another satisfied customer.
